چکیده

Abstract Chronic kidney disease (CKD), characterized by progressive loss of function, is a major cause mortality in cats. Another complication the formation calcium oxalate (CaOx) uroliths bladder and kidneys cats, where inflammation has role its pathogenesis. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNAs which bind to target mRNA reduce function. Depending on mRNA, they regulate transcription several pro-inflammatory genes. We assessed expression profiles circulating miRNAs blood, collected at natural end-of-life colony retrospective study, healthy (n=10; 5.9-16 yr), CaOx (n=10, 8.6-13.4 CKD 8.3-15.4 yr). Circulating concentrations creatinine, symmetric dimethylarginine, blood urea nitrogen were significantly greater cats compared with controls, indicating dysfunction. Expression miRNAs, measured qRT-PCR, was analyzed using ΔΔCt method normalized U6. There significant upregulation miR-155 stone formers controls (p< 0.05). increased serum urine human patients nephrolithiasis. can also promote oxalate-induced renal oxidative stress suppressing MGP expression. In humans, negatively correlated cytokines including IL-1β, IL-6, TNF-α, suggesting involvement However, downregulated controls. miR-16 Consistent this, there downregulation both Stage 4 CKD. Further, CaOx, but not CKD, included miR-17, miR-19b, miR-27a, miR-27b, whereas let-7a, miR-15a, miR-16, miR-29b, miR-200a only Taken together, profile may serve as important biomarkers initiation progression dysfunction

Circulating miRNAs as biomarkers of kidney disease

Interest in microRNAs (miRNAs) has dramatically increased in recent years not only because they regulate mRNA expression, and thus many physiological or pathophysiological processes, but also because they could serve as biomarkers. Next to analysis of tissue miRNA expression, measurement in body fluids such as blood or urine is attractive because miRNA in microvesicles or bound to protein is ve...

Investigating the Molecular miRNAs as Biomarkers of Type 2 Diabetes

Introduction: Biomarkers would significantly improve the early detection of the disease and identification of individuals at risk of emerging complications. Diabetes mellitus is a group of diverse and complex metabolic disorders. Both type 1 diabetes (T1D) and type 2 diabetes (T2D) mellitus are associated with distinct alterations in the profile of MicroRNAs (miRNAs) in the blood, which are som...

miRNAs as non-invasive biomarkers for lung cancer diagnosis.

Lung cancer is a leading cause of cancer death and late diagnosis is one of the most important reasons for the high mortality rate. Circulating microRNAs (miRNAs) represent stable and reproducible markers for numerous solid tumors, including lung cancer, and have been hypothesized as non-invasive diagnostic markers. Serum, plasma or whole peripheral blood can be used as starting material, and s...

A Review of the Function of Circulating Cell Free miRNAs as Promising Biomarkers in Cancer Diagnosis, Treatment, and Metastasis

Cell Free miRNAs are small, non-coding molecules that can be secreted into the bloodstream in very stable forms. These types of miRNAs, like intracellular miRNAs, participate in the control of many biological processes and are expressed in both natural and pathological conditions. Quantitative and qualitative changes in expression of circulating miRNAs are associated with the onset and progress...

Associations between dry dietary factors and canine calcium oxalate uroliths.

OBJECTIVE To identify factors in dry diets associated with the occurrence of calcium oxalate (CaOx) uroliths in dogs. ANIMALS 600 dogs with CaOx uroliths and 898 dogs without urinary tract diseases. PROCEDURE Univariate and multivariate logistic regression were performed. RESULTS Compared with diets with the highest concentrations of sodium, dry diets with the lowest concentrations of sod...
